While getting the pictures I needed for our PowerPoint project, I took some photos on campus. This is on the 5th floor of Old Mill, where they have a lot of awesome black and white pictures of the reconstruction of the building. (I think the building has burnt down a number of times?)

Nice picture. I know right where that is. I've stopped there a couple times to look at those black and whites. Do you know when the last time it burned down was? Was it just Old Mill?
Wow, the shadows in this picture are really interesting. If it was black in white I'd say it was a lot like German Expressionism, which consists of the use of painting with low key lighting to create a distinct atmosphere. The shadows are definitely necessary to this photo, as they provide the contrast and the depth of the space.
apparently it burned down twice, the 2nd time because of lightning. Those pictures up there must just be from the renovation they did.

Now all you need is the Cigarette Smoking man in the background and some X-Files music.
That's about the most intricate photo I've seen in a long time. I love how the floor appears black everywhere but where the light hits it straight on. Gorgeous.
haha, having him chiefing a butt in the corner? definitely x-files
